what if we are Earth, consciousness awakening, to protect the Whole
She clung to me with each new step i took, eventually making it impossible to walk without careful conscious movements.
“Take off your shoes,” She urged. So i did and continued my journey. She clung to me again, this time all the more in my awareness for it was my bare feet She held.
“Pause and (k)no(w)tice Me,” She whispered, “take Me into your hands and create with Me, wonder and awe with Me.” So i collected the rich, wet Clay from my soles and between my toes and began to create with Her, awe-ing at the color of Earth’s life essence i held in my hands. i breathed Her in remembering my origin of dust and breath and i awoke.
Like those literal steps of Earth clinging to my soles requiring me to walk differently and discern each following movement (so as to not slide down a slope on a rainy day at Ghost Ranch), once a deep and intimate awareness of Her arises in our souls, it is impossible to continue being the way we were before.
On this 50th Anniversary and Celebration of Mother Earth, let us all root ourselves in the wonder of our origin, our common home, our life dependence. May we be transformed by Her arising in our souls and clinging to our soles. May we become beings who act for the flourishing of the Whole.

for the sake of the Whole
may we root ourselves
in the wonder of our origin
our common home
our life dependence
may we be transformed by You
arising in our souls

for the flourishing of the Whole
